1957 Mercedes Benz 220S

This car almost got away. I saw it while I was hurrying elsewhere, and had just enough time to get these shots. My second ponton!

There was a person in this car that I hadn't seen when I started taking pictures, and expressed some surprise and dismay. But we had a friendly conversation once I explained that my interest was the car, and I promised to edit them out. When I glanced inside, the dash didn't look like it had woodgrain, it looked like it was made of wood!

Of recent I've had the slightly annoying experience of finding a great car, only to have the owner hop in and drive it away. I get to talk to them which is nice, but I don't get many pictures, or many good pictures. So I'm making use of what I could get. Maybe some day I will find these cars again. Enjoy!

The newer exhaust pipe suggests more extensive mechanical changes, maybe a more modern engine. Definitely not operating in "variable displacement" mode.
