1977 Cadillac Sedan de Ville

I guess Cadillacs of the 70s just don't have their headlights firmly mounted. Love the vast expanse of the hood, with the large elevated section -- shrunken compared to predecessors but still present, like some inherited glandular condition. And it still has vestigial fins, 15 years after they went out of style.

Nice eroded paint on the hood and grille surround. Turn indicators actually do look elegant, as do the shapes of the wheel wells. Unlike many full sized GM vehicles of the era, the wheels & tires don't look too small for the car.

Another vehicle missing passenger side hubcaps.

Pininfarina #1: 1979 Fiat 124 Spider

This one is missing bits of trim + the rear rack and has a few dings but is still in working condition. Love the "power" bulges on the hood, decorative wreath around the "Fiat" badge, exposed bolts on the wood grain dash, interesting indicator needles in the dials.

A classic profile that probably sustained the model way past it's best years.

1981 Toyota Vanguard Camper Conversion

So many nice features -- the hubcaps transplanted from an Oldsmobile, the rust that matches the 70s brown stripes, the overhang which contributes to the slowly collapsing rear suspension. And the retro space-age shape; a collision between a fibreglass sci-fi space shuttle and a pickup. The heart shaped coat hanger antenna is a nice touch too.

But it is still in use, no doubt providing many a pleasant mile to a comfortable night in a campground. Large and small at the same time.

1967 Dodge Tradesman Van (A108)

Another silent witness to the past, glowing against a dull rainy day. So glad it can have a new life.
Love the way the owner has exaggerated the front features with black paint. And then there's the "Y", of course.

I think it's a A108 -- looks long enough.

1986 GMC Sierra Classic Camper Special

Despite the moss and damp and damage, this truck is still useful. The dents and debris just give it added texture. Missing hubcaps on the passenger side suggest close contact with curbs. Found in the same neighbourhood as this car.

1973 Pontiac Ventura 4dr

I think this car looks a bit better than the '71 Chevy Nova. It's the grille and the smooth sculpting around the headlights. Rear wheels here look like they are from an Oldsmobile. Shame about the spray painting.

I was surprised to see it has up to date tags. Someone must still be driving it.

1976 Chevrolet Custom Deluxe 20

Still working after 40 years. Looks like it's been painted a few times, just one dog dish left, but those 8 lug steel wheels are still hanging in.
