1990 Toyota HiAce Super Custom
JDM vans are somewhat common in Vancouver, however I've only seen few of these Toyotas.
Love the sloping, aerodynamic shape of the front door windows, and the interesting shut lines. Plus the extended step in front of the front wheel, and all those seemingly random sunroofs.

1989 Dodge Power Ram
Another victim of damp dark weather. The tags are current, the tires are fine, so this probably a driver, despite the moss.
The black frames around the lights give it a menacing look, along with the dents and dark colour.

1986 GMC Sierra Classic Camper Special
Despite the moss and damp and damage, this truck is still useful. The dents and debris just give it added texture. Missing hubcaps on the passenger side suggest close contact with curbs. Found in the same neighbourhood as this car.

1980 GMC Caballero
It's a Nova! No its an El Camino! No! It's a Cabellero! Another delightful car that GM built to amaze us with decades later.
The owner obviously has a sense of humour. Love the cheezie script used for the name badge, the "GMC" hood ornament, the recessed and curved rear window, the way the side windows slope forwards in front of the B pillar. And that profile that is both appealing and odd at the same time. Wheels are original, and the load bed doesn't seem to leak.

1987 Toyota Celica GT
Once in a while a manufacturer hits a peak in their design and engineering. This is what I think happened with Toyota and the Celica. Here was a not-too-expensive, reliable, attractive, sporty car that sold well. Then the market changed, or management decided they wanted to go after the high end, or ... something. Regardless, this car is an example of the late peak period of the Celica -- a great smooth shape that still managed to be a good car as well.

1990 Jeep Cherokee 2dr (XJ)
This one is for Mark, the owner, who was so pleased by my interest in his truck.
I believe the two door Cherokee is less common, there being somewhat of a craze for four door SUVs at the time. Regardless, Jeeps of this era are interesting in that they echo the long history of conservative, 'military' looking vehicles while embracing a new style and better technology. So -- no super aerodynamic shape, but smaller and more practical than previous models. Love the oversized wheels/tires, squared off shapes of all lights, windows, grill, even fenders are mostly straight lines.

1987 Peugeot 505 STX
Car seems smooth and flat, but subtle curves show up in the profile. Also digging the arched eyebrows over the headlights, the AMC like door pulls. Owner says his mother bought a similar model, and both are still in use.
