Hey! thats my car! I bought that exact one in August. I mean, this car specifically. sadly, its developed some rust around the windsheild and that dent on the rear fender has become a rust spot too, and the tail light is busted. Thanks for letting me see my car when it was in better shape!

Seeing this photo of a gold 1983 GL wagon brings back some very fond memories. My husband and I purchased one new in the spring of 1983 in Atlanta, Georgia. They were not a very popular car in the south back then, but we loved how well the car was made, and being parents of a newborn, we wanted something safe. Fast forward 7 years, we were still enjoying the car and it fit a family of 4 very well. But one evening after leaving a family wedding, we were stopped at a red light, right behind an 18 wheeler. Then a drunk driver going 60 mph hit us from behind! He pushed us under the 18 wheeler. It took paramedics 45 minutes to cut us out. You couldn’t even tell what type of car we were in it was so damaged! Even though we were all injured, we survived thanks to an extremely well built Subaru! We had a full tank of gas which was crushed by the drunk drivers car. But it didn’t explode, it didn’t even leak! To this day I am thankful we purchased that car, it saved all our lives!!!

Hi Anonymous. That's an interesting story.

When I read it I thought you must be commenting on one of my Volvo posts just because of your emphasis on how safe your car was. I'm glad you all survived, and I hope you never have to depend on a car in that way again.
