Best of 2015 (and late 2014) Part 1

Happy 2016! Examining the posts of the past 14 months (I'm throwing in the few from 2014 in the mix), here are the best in the order of oldest to newest. Click in the middle of the picture to go to the post.
In no particular order. The slider works in the normal way, but if you click / tap in the middle of the image you will be taken to the post.

1968 Volkswagen Squareback

A neighbour of the owner says it was only recently restored, and that the small dents in the front chrome strip happened just that day. That is perhaps what the paper under the wiper is about.

1968 Plymouth Sport Fury

All the trappings of a 60s sporty luxury car, plus a little extra. Love those special hub caps, form fitting chrome bumpers, partially skirted rear wheels, and the slope of the rear window makes it complete. Thanks to "Car Guru 440" for the correction about the windows just behind the doors. Apparently they can be rolled down.

Just noticed the Seven Grey Dwarfs in the background of the rear 3/4 shot. The guy in the background of the last picture is an innocent bystander, not a dwarf (as far as I know).

1968 Triumph TR250

The owner didn't explicitly state that this car was for sale, but there were plenty of hints.

Always like the way wheels on these Triumphs looked so large while the car was so low. That plus the pugnacious looking grille and lights bulging from under the hood. And those classic pointy tailights.

1968 Pontiac Firebird

I loved the first generation Camaro/Firebird, but always preferred the Firebird. It had a nicer front treatment though basically it is the same car (I can hear the gasps of "blasphemy!" from here). It's that distinctive Pontiac beak baked into the bumper. Perhaps I was influenced by the advertising and product placement too. The Camaro was fast, the Firebird was classy.

Tach is not an accurate copy of the original, probably not functional, but it fools the casual observer. Dislike the wheels & low profile tires -- it would be better off with something less glaringly "bling".

1968 Mercury Pickup

Finish on the background fence matches the finish on the truck's added wood.

Keen observers will note that one of these pictures has something unusual about it. Which one and what is it?

1968 Ford Thunderbird

Curious how the hood and trunk are the main areas for patina.

Vinyl roof has a curious sort of "alligator" pattern to it. Paint above the side ridge is much more dulled than paint below that line. No "Ford" markings as far as I can tell. Such an excellent colour.
